FAR 61.87: Documents and endorsements for student solo
Question:
What personal document and endorsement are you required to have before you fly solo? Student pilot license, 3rd class medical or higher and endorsement stating student is ready for solo in student logbook; from instructor. Also, receive and log training and demonstrate certain maneuvers satisfactorily. Also, a photo ID from a local, state or government authority. Solo endorsement is good for 90 days.
